Infants
At Bless the Children, we see each child as a unique individual.  We partner with
parents to ensure that each child receives the highest quality care and their
individual needs are met. Each day you will receive a communication sheet
documenting your child's activities, as well as verbal communication.  Our goal is
to ensure that parents are not only kept informed about their child, but a part of
the daily process.

When you enter the Infant classroom, you will find our warm and nurturing
teachers.  The safe and secure environment our teachers provide will leave you
at ease when leaving your infant in our care. Through the use of gentle touches
and positive language, your child will develop trusting relationships with our staff.

A variety of age-appropriate toys and activities is provided to encourage growth
and development.  In addition to that, we also follow a monthly curriculum.  The
curriculum is theme based and includes activities for both older and younger
infants.  Each theme includes the following developmental focuses:
  • Curiosity (Cognitive): Infants can learn all about their world and how things
work.  They will also begin developing problem-solving skills through
    various activities.
  • Social/Emotional: One - on - one time, as well as a variety of activities is
provided to develop infants self esteem, along with building trust and
    security.
  • Language/Literacy: Books are read daily, as well as the usage of picture
cards and fingerplays/rhymes.  This will form the foundation for literacy.
  • Movement: A variety of fine and gross motor activities is provided to
encourage the growth of motor skills.
  • Sign Language: Sign Language is also used in our room.  This helps
infants learn to communicate their wants and needs, along with creating
    less frustration.
  • Sensory/Art: Infants will get to explore different textures (hot, cold, slimy,
smooth, etc.) and use their senses (smell, touch, hear, see, taste).
  • Dramatic Play: Infants will develop a better comprehension of the real
world by dressing up or playing with objects that relate to the theme.
  • Music: Music and music activities is provided throughout the day.
  • Projects: Special projects or activities are also provided each month.
